Artiste-peintre, illustrateur et concepteur graphique, Bernard Pelletier est né à Cap-de-la-Madeleine. Issu d’un parcours plutôt inhabituel pour un artiste, il agit à titre «d’artiste en résidence» pour Parcs Canada. Il crée des œuvres mettant en valeur la beauté de l’unicité des lieux et des paysages canadiens. Il fut mandaté par Parcs Canada pour réaliser une série d’œuvres d’art illustrant les 13 sites canadiens du patrimoine mondial, reconnus par l’UNESCO. Pour lui, les formes naissent de la lumière. Il remarque instinctivement des paysages insolites issus du chaos urbain, de l’objet d’art ou de l’harmonie de la nature. Ses TABLEAUX / PAINTINGS sont le miroir d’une réalité actuelle et présente, souvent oubliée du regard commun et vivant au rythme des humeurs du temps. Bernard Pelletier explore les voies d’un nouveau réalisme, comme s’il cherchait à dégager ce qui demeurera, hors des modes et du verbalisme.

Visual artist, illustrator and graphic designer, Bernard Pelletier was born in Cap-de-la-Madeleine. Has an artist, he followed an unusual career path, he has been employed by Parks Canada Agency and is acting in the capacity of “artist in residence” and visual communications advisor. He creates works showcasing the beauty and uniqueness of Canadian places and landscapes. Bernard Pelletier has been commissioned by Parks Canada to produce paintings which illustrate 13 prestigious UNESCO world heritage sites. Other works of his figure prominently in numerous private and public collections.

It is Bernard Pelletier’s view that “forms emerge from light”. He instinctively remarks the unusual landscapes that emerge out of the random bustle of cities, an art object, or the harmony of nature. His paintings are the mirror of a reality existing here and now but that is often overlooked in the everyday gaze trained on current concerns and fancies. Bernard Pelletier explores the paths toward a new realism, as though seeking to discern that which will live on in posterity, beyond vogues and verbiage.
